Circle Role Safety Features
Role Safety Features
To protect our server admins from users using Circles add role features maliciously (such as the c!role add command), Circle automatically enables "Role Safety" on ALL servers when you invite it. You cannot disable it yourself, you must join the support server and request for a Developer to disable it for your server.
What is 'Role Safety'?
Role safety is part of Circles role management system. With role safety enabled, users who have permissions to use the c!role command in your server will not be able to give out roles with Manage Server or Administrator permissions to users who don't already have those permissions.
Role safety exists to protect server admins and owners from "rogue mods". For example, without role safety, a server admin could easily start adding admin roles to any user they want which would allow those users to destroy servers. To combat this, and protect servers, we introduced role safety. When your server has role safety enabled and you attempt to add an admin role to a user who doesn't already have admin permissions, Circle will respond a message like the one below.

How do I disable role safety in my server?
You cannot disable role safety yourself, you must join our support server, go to the #support channel and open a support ticket. You must then ask a support member to request that a Developer disable role safety on your server.
Some things to note:
Manage Server or Administrator permissions. With role safety enabled:
- Non-admins who have access to the
c!role addcommand (via additional command permissions) will not be able to give anyone admin roles. Only admins can add/remove admin roles. - Admins will still be allowed to give admin roles to users who already have admin permissions.
With role safety disabled:
- Admins will now be allowed to add roles with
Manage ServerorAdministratorpermissions to users who don't already have those permissions! This means that admins will be allowed to give dangerous permissions to users in your server. - Non-admins will still not be allowed to add/remove admin roles from users. Circle will never allow someone to add/remove a role with
Administratorpermissions unless the user has that permission themselves.
