Auto Reply
What are Auto Replies?
This plugin instructs Circle to automatically reply to certain triggers. This can be useful for answering FAQs automatically, community engagement, and more!
Getting Started
- Navigate to your server's dashboard.
- Select the
Auto Replyplugin. If it's not enabled, you'll need to enable it. - Follow the instructions below.

Creating an Auto Reply
- Click the "CREATE NEW" button on the top right.
- Complete the prompt that appears. ("Trigger" and "Response" are required, all other fields are optional!)
- Want to be more fancy and select a "Trigger Type"? Read more here!
- Once you're happy with your Auto Reply, scroll down and press "Save".
- The new Auto Reply will now appear in your list of auto-replies. You can press "Edit" to make changes to it, press "Duplicate" to duplicate it, or press "Delete" to delete it.

Fields Breakdown
These options allow you to customise how Circle responds to your auto-replies.
- TRIGGER - What a member must say for the response to fire.
{*} as the trigger. You must have wildcard enabled. Circle will only reply to one message every two seconds.- TRIGGER TYPE - Specify if you want Circle to reply to something else, rather than simple messages, such as when a message gets pinned, or when someone boosts your server. Read more here!
- RESPONSE TYPE - Specify if you want Circle to reply to the trigger with a message/sticker, or by adding reactions.
- REQUIRED CHANNELS/ROLES - The user must either be in one of these channels, or have at least one required role, for the response to fire.
- IGNORED CHANNELS/ROLES - The user cannot be in any of these channels, or have any of the ignored roles, for the response to fire.
- WILDCARD - This determines if Circle should match the trigger and the message content exactly, or if Circle should scan the content and reply if it matches the trigger at all (for example: If your trigger was "tab" and you had this enabled, "table" would trigger the Auto Reply).
Message/Sticker Response Auto Replies
These options are only available when you have your "Response Type" set to "Send Message/Sticker".
- RESPONSE - The response to your auto reply. You can even make Circle send an embed, just click the "Edit Embed" button to open the embed editor.
- STICKER NAME - If your server has any custom stickers, these will appear in this drop-down. You can choose any one of these stickers, and Circle will send the sticker along with your response message/embed. If you ONLY want Circle to send a sticker, you can leave your response blank.
- RESPONSE CHANNEL - Where Circle should send the response message. Circle will send the response message to the current channel by default.
- DELETE RESPONSE AFTER - This allows you to tell Circle to delete the message after a short amount of time. For example, if you typed
3into this box, Circle will respond to messages which trigger your Auto Reply, and then delete the response Circle sent after 3 seconds. You can keep this box empty if you don't want Circle to automatically delete its response after it has been sent. - USE DISCORD'S REPLY FEATURE - This determines if Circle should use Discord's reply feature or not.
- DELETE TRIGGER - This determines if Circle should delete the message that triggered the response.
- ALLOW RESPONSE TO MENTION @EVERYONE, @HERE, AND ALL ROLES - If you want your Auto Reply to ping everyone, here, or a role in your server, you will need to enable this option. If you add an @everyone, @here, or role ping into your response, and do NOT enable this option, Circle will not ping anyone.
Reaction Response Auto Replies
This is only available when you have your "Response Type" set to "Add Reaction".
- Press the "Add Reaction" button.
- An emoji picker will appear. Select any emoji from the emoji picker. Your custom emojis are at the very bottom of the emoji picker.
- Once you've added your reactions, and you're happy with your new Auto Reply, scroll down and press "Save".
- Now, when someone sends a message into your server which triggers your Auto Reply, Circle will react to their message with your chosen emojis.
Auto Reply Permissions
Each Auto Reply has several permission options: "Required Roles", "Required Channels", "Ignored Channels" & "Ignored Roles". You can change these permissions to choose which users can use your Auto Reply, and in which channels.

To find a better guide on Circle's permission system, it's recommended that you read this guide to make sure that you completely understand how Circle's permission system works.

Responding to Specific Stickers/Emojis
If you select the "SOMEONE SENDS A SPECIFIC STICKER" or "SOMEONE SENDS A SPECIFIC CUSTOM EMOJI" trigger type, Circle will show you a new drop-down menu.
You can open this menu for the names of all of the custom stickers or emojis in your server (depending on your trigger type). You can choose any sticker or emoji from your server from this drop-down menu, and Circle will automatically respond to it whenever someone uses it.
